The ultimate goal of your content to is to create engagement.

Engagement is a term you need to grow very familiar with for a long time. The more social your site is, the better you are going to be in the future. You have to to communicate, engage and share. This is going to help you attract more visitors outside of the search engines.

You should have a plugin on your website (WordPress users) that enables people to engage with your content socially. This allows people to share any of your website content on their social profiles. If you create quality content, you will get a good deal of traffic as a result of this.

However, getting engagement and dialogue is very important, so the best thing for you to do is get people talking in the comments section.

Getting back to people in your comments section is vital if you want to establish longevity in this business.

There is a rule that suggests that you get back to people within 24 hours. Ideally you want to do this sooner, but in case you can't get to them in a timely manner, 24 hours should be your max. The quicker you are at getting back to them, the more people will engage on your site and the more conversions you will have.

When someone leaves a comment, you will receive an email so make sure you are getting to them...

ASK PEOPLE TO ENGAGE

Make sure you are asking people lots of questions. People are often times left with an opinion or a question after reading an article or a page on your website.

If you encourage and ask people questions and ask them to perform an action, they are much more likely to do it. People love to join in on conversations online.

Within all of your content activities, ask them to do something and you will get what you ask.

ENGAGEMENT THROUGH COMMENTS LEADS TO BETTER RANKINGS

Generally Google ranks content higher based on engagement and social value. How much is being shared on your page and how many people are commenting on your work? These metrics can be gamed to a certain degree, but they are on every search engine's radar so I wouldn't suggest you try and game the system so to speak.

TASK 1: Intall Akismet To Avoid Spam

If you have a WordPress account, you can download a plugin called Akismet. It helps monitor and filter website comments. So you want install this on your site like right now. Comment spam is a big problem and it's very common for people to go websites and spam the heck out of them through the  comments section.

TASK 2: Clean out the spam

1. Check if they are not addressing the content within your post in a way that shows they read it.
2. If they are dropping a link to their site that is completely irrelevant
3. If they are using something other than a real name for their name (Website name)

Spammers can be very slick sometimes. Therefore, plugins aren't necessarily going to prevent them from getting to your site and spamming it, but it does eliminate a high percentage of them.

TASK 3: CREATE A NEW PAGE OF CONTENT

Create a page/post on your site. This can be on any topic or keyword you want. Again, you want your content to be engaging, interesting and written in a natural way.

Ask people within the last paragraph to leave a comment or a question (depending on the nature of the post) and let them know you will get back to them. REmember, this will elad to more sharing and better rankings in the search engines.

TASK 4: SHARE YOUR CONTENT ON YOUR SOCIAL NETWORKS

Your final task will be to share your content, latest post, on all your social networks. You can either use a social button, or you can manually copy and pste your page URL into the social network and pots some supporting dialogue.
